Customize and supplement AI research was created by Hendrik Meyer
1. Could I also specify a hidden menu (not visible to website visitors, e.g., www.xyz.com/hidden/...) for searching for information? The information contained there cannot be transferred completely to the knowledge base (as only questions/answers/tags are available).2. Could I also include individual pages from external websites as URLs in the search criteria? This would help me deliver better and more accurate results.

Hi again Hendrik and thank you for all your excellent questions.

The Search for information tool searches every available resource to provide answers. This includes Smart Search indexed data and the Knowledge base.

The Smart Search index may include articles that are published but not directly accessible from the front end through the menu item. Such articles will be available from the search module, though.

Generally speaking, the knowledge base is supposed to be used for this purpose. Even if it is structured as Question / Answer (and this is generally better for AI) you may add items structured as Title / Content, instead.

Such items will not be available to the frontend user by any other means, unless you create a Knowledge Base menu item.

Another thing to consider is the Toolkit ability to create Knowledge Base items even from URLs. This way you can include content from the other URLs you mentioned. Such content will be static though and not updated if something changes at the live URL.

If necessary, we could theoretically add a tool to load information from specific URLs, but I think it may be quite slow.

Thanks again!
