Field * is required

Hi Christopher,
I maybe do something stupid but I can't find it. I have this multilingual site and in the footer I have a block for Newsletter subscription. I built a module per language with 4 fields #user-name#, #reply-to email#, phone number and a checkbox with newsletter subscription. All fields are required except for the phone number.  I've enabled Friendly-captcha for anti-spam. 

When I fill in the form I get an error indicating that field '*' is required, even though I filled in all fields (including the Phone field). When I inspect in Inspect-mode I can't find any other fields then the ones I've filled in.
What am I missing?

Hi Chrisopher, attached a screenshot. Since my website is in three languages Ive created fields for each language (newsletter, nieuwsbrief, jarida). In the footer I have made the checkbox required. But even if I check this box, the error occurs. Is it not possible to make this checkbox required?
 

With the current implementation, I believe it's impossible to make a checkbox required, because it doesn't check if a field is "checked", but rather if it contains a value.
However, we could fix this in the next release, if you need it.

It would be handy, because I think it is logical if you have a specific, small form in the footer to sign up for the newsletter, to make this checkbox mandatory. But I can work my way around it, I guess.

I will note it down for implementation.

Just to clarify. Is this a "NS Pro Subscription Checkbox", "Acymailing Subscription Checkbox" or just a typical checkbox?
