Hi Christopher

In Configuration - Bounced Email Handling it reads:  This text is translatable if you write ALL_CAPITALS_NO_SPACES.

Could you explain how this is meant? If an email bounces, I still get the pre-defined text and neither the subject nor the body is changed to my text messages. What do I miss?

Cheers, Chris

Hello Chris!

The bounce handling email subject and body are translatable.

This means that the value of these two parameters is passed through the Joomla Text::_() function, for translation. In order for the translation to work, a key must be in ALL_CAPITALS_NO_SPACES. See How to translate using language .ini files for more information on that point.

This is done to allow you more control over these parameters, but it does not mean that it will automatically adjust to a super user's language. If you have different values per language (in the Language Overrides) and use the bounce check function from the admin panel, you will receive these in the respective language used in your admin panel. Otherwise, the default language will be used.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks, Christopher,
I am quite aware of the process of translating language files in ini format.
The Problem is that it looks to me that there is a possibility provieded to translate the contents of the admin mails in the back end

However the mail I get after a bounce looks different from that. Unfortunately I cannot reproduce a bounce right now, so I am not sure. But I think, the explanation rrovided is a bit misleading, as it says
The subject of the email sent to the admin notification email, when bounces are found. This text is translatable if you write ALL_CAPITALS_NO_SPACES.
When it seems to mean the text of the explanation itself, rather than the text you would put in the boxes provided (marked in red in the screenshot).

P.S. At last I got the email of the last bounce I have managed. It looks like this:

Thank you Chris.

I apologize that the provided description is unclear. English is not my native language, so I do sometimes struggle to explain the functionality in a few words.

So, are you saying that the provided text in German is completely overlooked. Is that correct?

Yup, that's OK, English also isn't my first language. Anyway, the mail that I got after forcing a bounced mail certainly does not bear any similarities to the way I edited it, neither in the subject nor the body. So either I did something wrong, overlooked something or something does not work as expected.

Cheers, Chris
