Yes I did update another extension at the same time - Aimy Captcha less form guard.
So I reverted the website to a backup and did the updates one at a time, and they've both gone through without errors.
So I guess Aimy was messing with your extension!

Good find!
Aimy's Captchaless form guard DOES have an UpdateServer.php file.
It's very strange that Joomla entangles the two updates, though.
I will check and see if there's anything we can do to fix this.
