Updating from 2.5.932 -> 2.5.942

When updating from 2.5.932 -> 2.5.942 I get:

Error updating: Rapid Contact Ex 2.4.870
Failed opening required '/var/www/vhosts/stripseal-flooring.co.uk/httpdocs/tmp/install_681c8758cdc52/helpers/UpdateServer.php' (include_path='.:/opt/plesk/php/8.3/share/pear')

Rapid Contact Ex seems to be updated to 2.5.942 but what's going wrong?
 

Hello Michael and thank you for posting.

As much as I search, I can't find an UpdateServer.php file in any of my extensions or even in Joomla itself.
I can't be 100% sure, but this is probably another extension acting up.
If the tmp/install_681c8758cdc52 directory is still available (which is usually the case if an installation fails), go into it and try to identify the extension that causes the problem.
You may also try to delete all directories in your tmp folder and start the update process again.

Thank you, I've deleted everything in the tmp folder and hopefully the next update should go through fine.
Rapid Contact Ex had been updated OK before the error message.

I'm still getting this problem but on a different website, updating 2.5.932 to 2.5.942.

I checked that the tmp folder was empty before applying the update.
I will try sending you a copy of the tmp folder as it stands now.

That is interesting.
Are you updating Rapid Contact Ex alone, or are you trying to update another extension at the same time?
Is it possible that you have any extensions that affect the installation/update process?
For example, some plugins may tamper with the onExtensionAfterInstall or onExtensionAfterUpdate events.
I'm still trying to find anything related to a file called UpdateServer.php and I can't find it in code or files.
